Mark F. Thomas
Ebenezer President and Chief Executive Officer
Mark Thomas is president and chief executive officer for the Ebenezer Society in Minneapolis. Mark also serves as the president for Fairview Health Services Senior Services Division, where he has oversight of Fairview’s Homecare and Hospice, Fairview Partners and Senior Services.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration as well as a Master of Business Administration from Minnesota State University – Mankato. His post graduate studies in long-term care administration are from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
Mark has served as the Chair of Aging Services of Minnesota (ASOM) as well as served as a member of ASOM’s executive committee. In the past Mark has chaired ASOM’s Government Affairs Steering Committee, and served as a member of the Imperative Steering Committee setting legislative policy direction for both ASOM and Care Providers of Minnesota. Mark has also served as a delegate to LeadingAge (formerly the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging) and as a board director for the National Chronic Care Consortium. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for Fairview Homecare and Hospice. Mark has over 30 years experience in the health care field focused on services to older adults.

Stephan C. Grygar
Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Prior to his position with Ebenezer, Steve served as director of finance for Fairview Health Services from 1997 to 2000 and associate director of finance at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinic from 1981 to 1996, now University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview. There, he also held a variety of accounting and finance positions. Steve received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and has completed graduate coursework in finance. He is an advanced member of Healthcare Financial Management Association and belongs to the Society for Healthcare Planning and Marketing.
Jon Lundberg
Vice President of Operations
Jon Lundberg is Ebenezer’s vice president of operations. He has more than 28 years of out-state and metro facilities experience as a Long Term Care Administrator for properties ranging in size from 50 to 500 beds. He has a wide breadth of experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit facilities and organizations. In addition to being an accomplished Administrator, Jon has extensive experience in the field of older adult services, including operations work for multiple types of senior housing, assisted living, transitional care and other senior programming.
Jon has served as the Board chair of Care Providers of Minnesota, the state representative to the American Health Care Association Council of States, and has served as a member of the Long Term Care Imperative. He currently serves on the Aging Services of Minnesota Board of Directors as a delegate to LeadingAge.
Jon received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications with a minor in Aging and graduated from the Long Term Care Program at the University of Minnesota.

Susan C. Farr
Vice President of New Business Development
Susan has more than 25 years of experience in the senior housing industry and most recently has obtained C.A.A.S.H. (Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing) certification. Her background spans both metropolitan and rural communities across three states and includes a number of influential roles in senior community development and management. She has been noted for her success in community planning and development, creating innovative sales and marketing techniques, turning around fledging properties and coordinating effective management across multiple housing sites. Susan has her degree in Retail Merchandising and Management/Business Administration from The University of Wisconsin-Stout and has additional training from Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers. Susan‘s overall knowledge of operations and marketing provides the expertise she needs to design senior housing facilities from the ground up. She also serves on the National Association of Home Builders' 50+Housing Council.
Mary Swartz
Vice President of Human Resources
Mary has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in performance management and employment law. She develops and oversees a system-wide approach for human resources management and ensures that the organization is compliant with federal, state and local laws related to employment. Mary serves as internal consultant to Ebenezer leadership in all areas related to workforce management. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, national certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources with the Society of Human Resources Management, and has continued post-graduate education in leadership development and employment law.
Nancy Anderson
Vice President of Planning and Organizational Development
With more than 20 years of experience in senior healthcare and services, Nancy works with business leaders and stakeholders to define and implement a senior services strategy that capitalizes on Fairview’s continuum of care. Nancy facilitates the design and implementation of care models that leverage the continuum leading to best quality outcomes at lowest cost with effective/efficient care transitions throughout the Fairview system. As an expert in learning and organizational development, Nancy also provides leadership in process improvement, talent management, and succession planning. She develops and implements results-based leadership models and facilitates leadership development programs for managers and executives. In addition to healthcare, Nancy has held senior level learning and organizational development positions in other industries including public relations and retail. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts in nursing from the College of St. Scholastica and a master’s in Human Resource Development from the University of St. Thomas.

Sue Olson
Vice President of Corporate Services
Sue is responsible for serving as a resource expert for leadership groups and facility staff as well as auxiliary boards and volunteer steering committees. Sue facilitates strategic planning efforts for management teams. She coordinates team development through Insights profiling, Myers-Briggs personality profiling and co-active coaching. Sue is responsible for all major event planning including the annual Ebenezer leadership meeting, employee giving campaign and foundation donor events. She is also responsible for sponsoring the customer service initiative for the organization. Sue holds a degree in organizational communication from Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, Minn.
Mike Ziomko
Senior Planned & Major Gift Officer Ebenezer Foundation
Mike calls it matching needs and interests to create legacies. We call it improving the lives of thousands of seniors in Minnesota. Whatever you call it, we are happy that Mike Ziomko is part of Ebenezer. With more than 25 years of experience in fundraising and planned giving, Mike has worked for the University of Minnesota Foundation, the Basilica of St. Mary's, University of St. Johns and the Children's Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota. As the 2013 recipient of Ebenezer's Community Service Award, Mike has proven his dedication and enthusiasm to our cause. Mike earned his Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from Yale University, and he also has Master's Degree in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology from the University of Minnesota.
